We’re having such a beautiful fall… time for you to come on out to Schwallier’s Country Basket to have a ball! Whether you want to pick delicious apples, ride our cowtrain, take a wagon tour, race through our corn maze, feed the goats, devour donuts, chug down cider—or just relax and enjoy the fresh fall air and simple pleasures of farm life—we’ve got it covered. We’re open all week; won’t you stop by for a visit?
Here’s a look at some of what’s going on this weekend.
Smile and say ‘Apples!’
This weekend, we’re hosting ‘Family Photo Day’ on the farm. Bring your family, bring your friends! From 1 p.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, September 20, we’ll have a professional photographer out on the farm to take your pictures*. They’ll later be posted to our Facebook page, where you can tag yourself and download your photo file free of charge. (*Photos will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis. One photo per group.) Come out and enjoy an afternoon on the farm. You create the memories, we’ll capture the moment!
Pick of the Crop
Our apples are ripe and ready for the picking! We have McIntosh, Blondee, Gala, Cortland and Honeycrisp varieties available for u-pick and in the market, as well as Ginger Golds and SweeTango varieties in the market. So many possibilities! Delicious to eat straight off the tree; ideal for use in tons of recipes. Whatever your preference, come on in for these fresh-picked beauties!
Love and Marriage… and an Orchard on the Ridge
Phil and Judy Schwallier are celebrating 36 years of wedded bliss this week! The duo met at a dance, married two years later, planted an orchard, raised four children and opened a delightful farm market to share the simple pleasures of country life with friends from near and far. It’s been a busy, full and blessed life together. Wish them well if you run into them at the farm!
We hope you are enjoying the fall… and that you’ll come on out and enjoy it with us!
